The Italian regulatory authority AGCOM has opened a public consultation (Delibera n. 55/04/CONS) about the assignment of rights of use for frequencies in the 26 GHz and 28 GHz bands, with a view to determining the modalities of licensing their use for broadband fixed wireless access, commonly referred to as wireless local loop (WLL).
AGCOM puts forward an assignment system comprising 3 stages, whereby, only in case there are not enough frequencies available to satisfy demand in a particular area (stage 3b), an auction would be held with a "single bid sealed offer" system.
