The European Commission's eCommunications Consultation Task Force (eCCTF) has published two letters (both dated 25 June 2004) relating to notifications made by the Portuguese regulatory authority ANACOM. The letters cover, respectively:

- Markets 1 through 6: Retail fixed narrowband services (access to the public telephone network at a fixed location and publicly available telephone services at a fixed location), for which Portugal Telecom and its subsidiaries were found by ANACOM to have Significant Market Power.

- Markets 8 and 9: Wholesale call origination on the public telephone network at a fixed location, for which Portugal Telecom and its subsidiaries were found by ANACOM to have Significant Market Power, and the market for Wholesale call termination on individual public telephone networks provided at a fixed location, for which ANACOM found all fixed network operators with direct access to the customer to have Significant Market Power.

The eCCTF letters SG-Greffe(2004)D/202507 and SG-Greffe(2004)D/202508 contain no comments of substance on the ANACOM proposals, and simply validate ANACOM's conclusions, i.e. they confirm the market definitions and the SMP designations. ANACOM will now proceed with the determination of regulatory obligations ("remedies").

The letters addressed to ANACOM have been added to the T-REGS repository of eCCTF letters, using .zip archives containing descriptive filenames.
