Ireland: ComReg consultation on Wholesale Line Rental transfer charges Print E-mail

The Irish regulatory authority ComReg has today published a draft Direction to Eircom, the fixed incumbent operator.

The draft, which is the subject of a public consultation, entails Eircom being required to apply (until detailed cost data becomes available) a retail-minus based one-off charge of €9.16 for the transfer of a PSTN or ISDN subscription to an alternative operator making use of Wholesale Line Rental.

The draft Direction also proposes to require Eircom to compile and hand over detailed cost data to ComReg, with a view to applying a genuinely cost-oriented transfer charge in the future.

The full text of the ComReg consultation document can be accessed by clicking here.

Responses are due by 3 March 2004.
