In addition to being specialised in “hands-on” telecommunications regulatory issues in the EU Member States, T-REGS is actively involved with telecommunications policy and regulation, and related subjects, at the European Union level.

Since the foundation of T-REGS in 1995 (and in fact since the late 1980s), we have participated in nearly all public consultations held by European Union institutions concerning telecommunications (by drafting position papers on behalf of telecommunications operators, by preparing proposed amendments to draft EU directives, by attending public hearings, and often speaking at such hearings, etc.).

On numerous occasions, we have also taken practical action at EU level, for example by drafting and filing successful complaints about erroneous transposition of EU directives in the Member States, by requesting the intervention of the European Commission at the development stage of national legislation and regulations, etc.

T-REGS is therefore able to assist telecommunications operators in dealing with EU affairs, or with escalating local, regional or national issues to the EU level when and where appropriate.

This can be done on a case-by-case basis, or in a more structured fashion, for example by defining a specific monitoring programme, or on an outsourcing basis.
