The new Hungarian Act on Electronic Communications entered into force on 1 Jan 2004.

At the same time, the new regulatory authority NHH (Nemzeti Hírközlési Hatóság or National Communications Authority) became operational.

“These two events will increase the competitiveness of the communications sector, in harmony with the EU regulations, and therewith the development of the information society”, said Minister Kálmán Kovács at his press briefing on Monday.
