Malta will join the EU on 1 May 2004.

On 14 Jan 2004, the Malta Communications Authority (MCA) published a 6-month review document, which assesses the recent evolution of telecommunications markets (including cable TV), and also summarises the main regulatory decisions taken by the MCA between April and September 2003.

This document is therefore not a "market review" (market definition and market analysis) in the sense of the EU directives, but it is of more general interest, including in terms of the regulatory issues and approach in Malta.
