The text of the "Projet de loi Communications électroniques - Services de communication audiovisuelle", as it had been put forward by the mixed Committee (see also a previous T-REGS news item), was adopted yesterday by the plenary sessions of the Assemblée Nationale (at 11:00h) and of the Senate (at 17:20h).

The final text (in French) is currently only available as a 4MB scanned and annotated paper document, accessible here. No changes were made to the substance of the text that had been put forward by the mixed Committee (available in searchable HTML format, by clicking here). The only modifications concern article numbering and some small linguistic adjustments.

Publication in the Official Journal, and entry into force, thereby formally transposing the EU directives on electronic communications into French law, is expected in early July 2004.
